My journey in The Quinfall has been a truly amazing adventure thus far. The player community is open and engaging! Their customer service reps are top notch! They have a company and devs that appear to take player based suggestions to heart! At least all of this has been my experience thus far.
Well, with save for one exception. I don’t always get replies when I ask things in chat, but I don’t go out of my way to do so and it isn’t uncommon for that to happen to me in any games. Hell my own friends and family seem to make it a game to ignore me at times.
I don’t understand some of the animosity I’ve seen people stream or post about the game, company, devs, and community service reps.
The game is very real , and from what I’ve gathered, it is filled with employees and players that adore everything it has to offer! This Hobbit included!
I’ll be the first to admit, The Quinfall is not likely a game for everyone. But, it could be. What I mean by that exactly, is The Quinfall plays like a MMO of Ole. There are huge grinds for character progression. Definitely more so than you’ll encounter in some of the modern MMOs of today. There isn’t a lot of hand holding, save for what you might gather from their outstanding community service reps, and the player base. That said, there are gamers out there that love the grinds, love the challenges, love the almost endless cycle of progression. This is something The Quinfall offers. You can’t achieve a max level character or max level professions in a weekend.
In many ways, The Quinfall reminds me (and Kilen, I might add) of EverQuest. It satisfies an urge to play something challenging and fulfilling. Leveling in all fashions takes some work, and we are ok with doing said work. Enchanting and empowering your gear takes work, resources, and coin but the differences in your character’s power is noticeable. Trade skills actually MEAN something in The Quinfall. In most games it’s just some silly thing you do to pass time while you are waiting for your friends to get on. In the Quinfall, the majority of the gear and items you come across were in fact made by a player out there some where! A player that spent hours upon hours of leveling that trade skill. Every ‘Life Skill’ has 100 levels (or most as I haven’t maxed anything just yet).
In most cases, players are willing to help you where they can. They’ll answer questions, guide you to the right path, and/or point you to resources that you can use to get your adventures underway. If you have an issue, and you are willing to head over to their Discord Server, their community service reps are an amazing bunch of people! They’ve helped me out quite a few times at the time of this post. Granted, they can’t hand you the world or bow to your ever impending will, but if they can help, they seem more than willing to try to resolve any issues they are able to help with. And I’ll admit that length of assistance has certainly impressed this Hobbit!
If old school style MMOs are your thing, and you think you would like that style of play with a fresh look and the lack of things you disliked about some of the MMOs of Ole, I implore you to take a look at The Quinfall!
Game long, my friends. Game hard.
