Hello Games announced the release of Patch 5.02 via their Discord earlier this morning. It’s an exciting and nerving time for those of us that frequent NMS. With a universe reset on the horizon, I have slowed my attempts to play recently. It’s not so much that I don’t want to play, but scheduling has been interesting on top of the fact that I’m not quite sure what I stand to lose in its entirety with the reset. The loss doesn’t bother me per se, more so I don’t know that I want to invest further time in my current save, if nothing of that save is viable once the reset occurs. I know it was mentioned that bases would be removed, but I’m not positive if that means you effectively get to keep everything else, such as your freighter, ships, currency, gear, etc… or is it a complete and total wipe? This is the first Universe reset I’ve been around for in NMS, so I’m just not sure. 🙂 In any case, if you want to take a peek at the official patch message, you can do so from their website, here.
WORLDS PART 1 PATCH 5.02
July 25, 2024.
Hello Everyone,
Thank you to everyone playing No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1, especially those taking the time to report any issues they encounter via Zendesk or console crash reporting.
We are listening closely to your feedback, and have identified and resolved a number of issues. These fixes are included in patch 5.01.1, which is now live on Steam and will be coming to other platforms as soon as possible.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a GPU crash on PlayStation platforms.
Also includes all previous changes from 5.01.1
- Fixed an issues that caused the player to become invisible after jumping and shooting.
- Fixed an issue that caused the player to be positioned 50m off the ground when riding some synthetic lifeforms.
- Fixed an issue that caused some planets to become infested, resulting in a loss of any settlements on that world, and in minor terrain shifts. The infested status of planets has been restored to how it was pre-Worlds. Newly infested planets will become un-infested, and previously infested planets will be restored as such.
- Fixed a crash related to planetary rendering.
- Fixed a rare rendering crash.
- Fixed a rendering hang.
We will continue to release patches as issues are identified and resolved. If you experience any issues, let us know by submitting a bug report.
Thank you,
Hello Games
