It should come as no surprise that Kilen and I are playing The Quinfall fairly heavily as of recent scheduling goes. That said, the ‘majority’ of our gaming group is playing R.E.P.O together as a whole.
This gem of a game was introduced to us by Error after he seen a one (or several) of his favorite content creators playing with their group(s) in some of their content.
We have been playing it on and off ever since. Although, that said, we don’t necessarily play it in the manner in which it was intended. By default the game operates on a ‘hard core’ like mode where death effectively means you are starting over. Early on in the game play, I found you could backup your saves, and just use that to put the ‘original game’ back and continue where you left off.
Our group rather prefers this method in truth. I mean things happen, and bad things at times. We just don’t fancy the idea of starting from square one on every single play through. I really wish they would implement this method as a default in truth.
I’m not saying it is the ‘right’ way to play R.E.P.O. It’s just the way we prefer. It’s also not the first time I’ve found a manner to implement a different Quality of Life for games we enjoy or want to enjoy, even if it might not be the manner in which play was intended.
Even still, the game has been a blast! We did manage to get Aces to play with us every now and then, although he doesn’t seem quite as keen for it as we do. Error’s work schedule will have this one in and out of rotation for a bit. The current state of NH is in a bit of shambles. Mostly just Kilen and I hanging in there to keep the gaming dreams alive. Not that anyone is at fault, life will be life after all.
