My wife and I gave Lego Pirates of the Caribbean a relatively short play through on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, while it seems like it could be a fantastic game, it didn’t make the cut for us. The way the game handles the shared split screen was wrecking me. To be fair, we’ve had the dynamic style split screen before, but it was in a 2D platform-ish game called Degrees of Separation. The style there didn’t seem to have an effect on me, however in the 3D based environment for Lego PotC it was giving me a decent amount of 3D/motion sickness. Ultimately though, my wife made the decision to scrap the attempt. I’m pretty sure I could have powered through it, although I’ll happily admit, I’m glad I don’t have too. I’m not entirely sure what aspects about the game were not appealing to my wife, but she didn’t seem to take a liking too it at all. We called the attempt before the Steam 2 hour limit, and just got a refund for it. We’ll apply the funds there to a replacement (hopefully before the Steam Summer Sale ends).
