Hobbit Plays: 12.22.23-12.26.23

Hobbit Plays News

With Christmas on Monday, I had a couple extra days of gaming to add to my weekend! This post is certainly late, because I’ve been under the weather, and had a bit of catchup to do at work with the extra time off. I started getting sick at the tail end of my holiday, so that didn’t cause too much interruption for me, we started off with a game we haven’t played in some time, and continued with some games that most of us love to visit every now and then.

Days played: All week

Players: Hobbit

Comments: Just the usual daily quests, event dailies, farming, and typical SW shenanigans!

Days played: Friday

Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: To my surprise we started the gaming off Friday with some Borderlands 2. We haven’t revisited this gem in quite some time, and our last adventure into it was the Tiny Tina’s Adventure that spawned a new game. I spoke to my son earlier Friday about it, and once our work days were over, we both fired it up. I had already sent a message to our FL gaming buddy, and he was loaded up and ready before we started on Friday evening. Sadly, the adventures were short lived over the course of the holiday, although my son and I played it a few times, and still managed a great time for it over all.

Days played: Saturday

Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: Kilen, wasn’t really feeling Borderlands 2 on Saturday when we met up online to start our next gaming session. So we decided to snag some of the holiday cosmetics and events going on in DRG! While I was sad to see the Borderlands 2 come to close so quickly, I was certainly happy with the choice to run some Deep Rock Galactic. This game is just such a fantastic piece of work!

Comments: Later in the evening on Saturday (I believe), we moved over to a fresh start on Valheim. My son had called it by that point, but we did manage to get him to play some on Monday. Mostly because we promised him we’d do base building after all the combat and shenanigans were through. Likely once he’d called it for the night again. This is another game I hold fairly dearly. My favorite part of the game is exploration, especially exploration that involves sailing. The game does such an incredible job with that part of the game. This asides that the performance and such work very well from everything we’ve encountered so far at least.

Comments: During the Steam sale, my son and I picked up Red Dead Redemption Online. He already had the game on Xbox One, and after some thought, we just opted to go for the Online version since we have no intention of going through the Story mode, even though it appears to have won numerous rewards for them in the past. It was more so just that we typically game co-op of some sort when we are gaming, and we didn’t see the need to pick up the full game if that was the only intent. Given I got sick at the tail end of my holiday, we didn’t get a lot of time to roam around the Wild West, but the few sessions we did manage were truly great!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: Christmas happened to fall on Monday this year, and well, Monday’s and Tuesdays are the days my wife and I game together in the evening after work. Since it was a holiday for both of us, we managed to get quite a bit of time in on Stardew Valley over Monday and Tuesday. We progressed the game we are currently playing fairly decently, although, we still lack the fiddlehead fern and rabbit’s foot to complete the Community Center! We are working towards trying to get them as soon as possible so we can start travel to Ginger Island (hopefully soon!)!
