My how this month seems to be full steam ahead!? It’s already the 8th, and the start of the next week for Hobbit Plays. The Hobbit Plays for this week is certainly a bit later in the afternoon than I had intended, but here it is once again never-the-less!
On Friday I was once again met with an issue concerning Fedora 43 updates. In this particular case, I got a bit lucky as I had ran updates on my laptop as I was getting ready to start my work day. I just logged into my work vm from my desktop, while I started troubleshooting on my laptop.
I fixed myself up with a temporary solution and was back in operation on my laptop not too long after I noted the issue. Needless to say, I held off on updates for the weekend.
All things considered though, I still had a blast once again on the gaming area of things. It was another weekend where I didn’t really play any The Quinfall. Schedules and goals in No Man’s Sky keep me away, and Kilen never really mentioned wanting to play it, so I just rolled ahead with NMS, enjoying every blissful second of it all weekend long!
You’ll note quite a large list of Honorable Mentions this week. The gang was jumping around over the course of the week for sure, and I added a few from Bullnerd, Zsadistic, and Sleezel as well.
Qvaid and I will be starting a new game later today for our evening gaming sessions. Here is to hoping that the game turns out to be a good one. In truth, we haven’t played too many games yet that were not an absolute blast in any case. Even if it turns out to be a dud, we have other options available to us.
Game long, my friends. Game hard.

Highlights

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Having completed the story mode for Years 5 – 7 and at least one stage, Qvaid and I picked back up on Free Play mode for years 5 and started working our way through that on Monday evening.
We did have to skip ahead a bit to get a character token with the ability of a key, and we purchased a few of the characters we had unlocked after that. This allowed us the fortune of being able to accomplish everything (at least thus far) on the stages we were working on.
Unless I am mistaken, we ended the night with all of Year 5’s Free Play mode completed!
Qvaid and I worked on the Free Play mode on all of the Years 5 – 7 through the remainder of the week, and managed to Complete our play through of Lego Harry Potter Collections on Thursday evening!
I think she’s already decided on what game she wants to try next. More on that in the upcoming, Hobbit Plays 12.08.25 – 12.14.25!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Players: Aces, Eldon, Iron, Kilen, SoSirius, Hobbit
Comments: The weekend was certainly full of some No Man’s Sky game play. It wasn’t technically all that everyone played per se, but it was the only game we played together so to speak.
Multiplayer in NMS is a bit of a stranger scenario as it were, and while it is totally possible, the goals of each individual make it a bit impractical at times.
Over the course of the weekend, I managed to do some testing on Multi Tools, which truth be told were a bit of a flop over all. I ended up making a Multi Tool my weapon, that technically speaking wasn’t as practical as I thought at the start. Ah well, lesson learned. Learning is fun.
I also managed to finally get an S-Class Dreadnaught Capital Ship! I was super jazzed about that! Finally I can put those Cargo Bulk Head Modules to use!
Iron actually played a bit on Thursday I believe, but I don’t recall seeing him online any after that. I was hopeful he might be joining the ranks of us exploring the cosmos at some point. Granted, that is still obviously a possibility, but lack of communication, and not seeing him has me thinking it might note quite be his cup of tea.
Aces, Eldon, Kilen, SoSirius, and myself played some lengthy sessions on and off through out the weekend. It was fun working on bases, exploring, scanning flora, minerals, and fauna on undiscovered planets while chatting it up in Discord together!
