I had a fantastic weekend of gaming for the most part. Some game testing, a bit of variety, and I even managed a bit of some Final Fantasy 7 gameplay for myself. It is rare I set aside any time to play a solo based game, I’ve been working on FF7 on and off, here and there for quite some time.

Comments: We started off a bit slow with some trial and error testing in Baldur’s Gate 3. We ended that with what we thought might be the fix needed for my son to stabilize his BG3 gameplay. After some thought thought, he decided to place his play through of the game on hold, until he can beef up the hardware (or perhaps just swap out the video card) to something that would allow him to enjoy the game on higher than low – mid settings. In truth, we didn’t test enough after we stabilized the game for him to say it was a success, but it was certainly better than the prior issues we were running into. In essence, I don’t blame him, and have since decided to halt my attempts to progress further as well. BG3 has certainly been far more fun to me gaming with everyone, and I’m certainly up for pressing the pause button until he’s ready to jump back into the BG3 saga.

Comments: As mentioned in a previous post, we fired up Friday The 13th: The Game for almost the entirety of the weekend. I have no regrets. The scare level of that game for me initially was almost insanity. I’ve toned down the fear a bit, and managed to improve my gameplay some as well. Although, I still kind of suck as Jason, and I’m probably just mediocre at best as a counselor. Improvement is still improvement, am I right? In earnest, I have to say Friday The 13th: The Game has me seriously pondering an upcoming: Dead By Daylight purchase! I know there is a possibility of Friday The 13th: The Game being shutdown on December 31st of 2024. The news does in fact make me sad, I hate to see any game fail. All games have their fans, and I’ve definitely become a fan of FT13TH:TG over the weekend!

Comments: I finished up the weekend evening on Sunday with a bit of some play in Final Fantasy 7. I have a save I made prior to taking the boat from Junon, and in truth with the performance I had concerning the Shinra Parade and the fact that I accidentally jumped on the ship and left the Fort behind, I pondered going back to the save. Ultimately, I think I’ve decided to just move forward with the new save I have and skip the battle simulation mini quest. My goal, after all is to complete the game at this point, and while I still want to take time and enjoy all I can, I believe the little I missed with that blunder isn’t enough to set myself back that far from the save I finished up on Sunday night.
