Hobbit Plays: 11.10.25 – 11.16.25

Hobbit Plays News

While this week was met with some scheduling challenges, over all it still turned out to be a fairly great week of gaming for me. Qvaid and I worked on a Christmas based project together. We were happy with the results. Especially considering it was our first project like that together.

The group as a whole had a rather difficult time aligning schedules over the weekend. It was odd, but it didn’t cause us too much strife and we were still certainly able to get some gaming on the docket!

There was also some nice chatting going on in the Discord server, even in cases where all of us were not available (or willing?) to play the same game, or play together.

The since of community was still strong, and as I mentioned above, we still managed to play some games together. Error even managed to pop in for a bit in No Man’s Sky and he worked on a Corvette ship before he had to call it for work later in the evening!

On a personal level, I’d chalk the week up to be fantastic! Qvaid and I really enjoyed working together on the Christmas project, I was able to play games with her the majority of our usual schedule in Lego Harry Potter, and I got to play The Quinfall and my all time favorite game, No Man’s Sky! I mean, obviously, I’m a bit biased, but that sounds like a perfect week to me!?

It would seem the Honorable mentions (noted below) had a bit larger list than has become the norm. The beauty of them lately is typically the gang will hope into Discord to at least chat while they are playing something solo. Not always, perhaps, but at least more frequently than in the past. It’s always nice to hear from everyone, regardless of whether or not they have time to play a game with us at the time.

Game long, my friends. Game hard.

Highlights

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: On Monday evening, Qvaid and I technically finished up the years 1 – 4 of the Lego Harry Potter Collection series. We were not quite happy with our progression and what all we missed along the way, so we started walking back through stages collecting the House Banners, tokens, and completion.

Over all, I’m not sure how much we will attempt to collect as we go, but we knew we missed quite a lot on our first play through together. In some cases some of the characters we wanted or needed were missed and that limits what you can access to some extent in the game.

Tuesday evening, Qvaid and I were working on a crafting project together, so we got a fairly late start on the gaming. We did pick back up on working through collecting things we missed in Years 1-4. With the help of a YouTube channel from Happy Thumbs Gaming, we were able to pick up Professor Snape and now have access to Dark Magic to open and unlock things we could not prior. That allowed us to go back to start going back to stages we had not been able to complete collections in previously and get to work.

With the late start, time caught up with us fairly quickly, but we did manage some decent progress before it was time to turn in for the night.

Wednesday evening, Qvaid and I worked on a crafting project so we skipped gaming on that night. It was a fun, holiday inspired project that we had effectively completed by the time it was time for us to turn in for the night. There were some minor tweaks to do, but Qvaid handled those on Thursday after a bit of a parts run to Lowes and the local Dollar Tree.

On Thursday evening, with the crafting project all wrapped up, we had dinner, and some time with Munchkin (our daughter) and her husband. We got a bit of a late start, but managed to get several stages in years 1-4 complete after doing some back tracking to get more studs, character icons, and crests. We’ll go through at a later point and purchase the characters we’ve unlocked, but it was definitely quite a bit of fun to head back to the stages and work on things we had missed on our first play through of the stages.

Days played: All Week

Players: Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: As per the status quo, Monday – Thursday was mostly just a bit of early gaming before my work day started. Some Caravan runs in the background as I went through my work day where scheduling allowed as well.

The mornings prior to work are generally a walk through of the daily board quests, feeding and collecting from livestock, and gathering a bit of wood for the Daily Board quest that involves that. As my work day starts I’ve usually headed over to a main hub city, purchased goods, and I start my trek to the delivery city while I work.

By the end of the week, I had slowed down quite a bit on the number of Carvans I’ve been running in The Quinfall. I’ll pick the pace back up as needed to regenerate coin, but for now, I felt like I was certainly in a good place.

I maintained my daily board quests, tending the livestock, and even managed a decent bit of farming over the course of the weekend.

Over all, the weekend in The Quinfall was a bit off, as Kilen had to bounce several days of the weekend, but we did manage to get some dungeon runs and experience grinding at a point or some over the course of the weekend.

We haven’t heard much from Sleezel as of late, although we do still see him get on and run the Clan Quests here and there, and he still appears to be playing on a regular basis at a glance.

The majority of the updates, changes, and quality of life changes have certainly been nice. I can’t say I agree with everything, but at least it is nice to know that they do take the player base into consideration.

We also mixed in another game this weekend, so I can see where the natural flow of gaming Kilen and I had in The Quinfall was bound to be disrupted at least a bit.

No complaints though, the game we alternated with is my absolute favorite game!

Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Players: Error, Eldon, Kilen, SoSirius, Hobbit

Comments: Kilen let me know sometime during the week that he managed to get the Beachhead Expedition in NMS completed. This had me a bit motivated to give it a good run myself. Later in the evening on Friday after I wrapped up some things in The Quinfall, I logged into NMS, headed to the Anomaly, and I too was off on the Beachhead Expedition!

Now I stayed up WAY (I MEAN WAY) later than I had intended too, but I made some incredible progress (for me at least) by the time I called it in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday.

I woke up later than I had intended (obviously due to going to bed so late), and got started on the remainder of the Expedition! I managed to finish it up, and even work on a few othe projects in NMS!

By the end of the weekend, I had a new Nanite farming outpost on a planet that I think will be a good source of Corvette parts along with a few other perks in terms of resources.

I had an absolute BLAST playing No Man’s Sky again, and was incredibly happy to see so many of the gang join in! Even SoSirius managed to get some time in with us!
