Hobbit Plays: 09.01.25 – 09.07.25

Hobbit Plays News

The week of gaming was certainly a blast! There was a bit of some schedule hiccups here and there, along with a family gathering Qvaid, Error, and I had to attend on Saturday. Even still, we managed quite a bit of good gaming over the course of the week.

Qvaid and I made strides in our progress in Revenge of the Savage Planet. Depending on her mood, we’ll either finish that up this week with 100% completion, or we’ll finish the game with the last part we need printed for the Javelin to escape or isolated abandonment. One way or another, we’ll make it back home!

The adventures in The Quinfall have halted a bit with the grind for trade skills, which is ironically needed to get gear to progress your character further. As I mentioned below, we did manage a few dungeon crawls, just not quite as much as we have in the past few weekends. Alas, you either do the work to progress or you stay stagnant where you are! Such is the ways of MMOs. I’m still really enjoying the game myself, and I’m hopeful for quite a bit more fun out of it as it moves further along the path in Early Access.

One again, there wasn’t much in the way of Honorable Mentions. I had a small test on Helldivers 2, which my skill level was certainly not up for, and a bit of other games played by several friends that are a bit MIA at the time concerning our gaming group.

Game long my friends, Game hard!

Highlights

Days played: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: Life kind of got in the way of the gaming schedule Qvaid and I hold so dear. As such, we didn’t get any game time in on Monday. Some how it went from an entire day we could game, to we didn’t even manage to scrounge in a good hour or so.

Alas, we certainly made up for it Tuesday evening. We accomplished so much! It was certainly an impressive feat! We finished up the things we had to leave behind on the first 3 planets because of requirements for upgrades to get resources, upgrades, outfits, etc… It was indeed some good times, and great laughs!

On Wednesday evening, Qvaid and I made leaps and bounds on progress in RotSP. We managed to finish gathering all the upgrades, printer cartridges, suits, etc… from all 4 of the planets we’ve visited so far. While I thought we might be close to the end of the game, at this point, I’m not quite as sure as I once was.

Turns out there is a 5th planet!? We got to this point as the night was coming to a close. All we managed to do was get rocketed to the new planet and teleport back to our base, before we called it a night. Looking forward to visiting it later on Thursday evening though!

As it turns out, the new planet was more of a story and boss situation than anything else. Qvaid and I walked through scanning everything we could, defeated the boss, and headed back to our base on Thursday to pick back up on quests we had left over. In theory we are able to complete the game now as is. That said, I think we are opting to try and see if we can finish scanning the missing flora and fauna of each planet.

We are incredibly close to getting 100% on the game, or at least it feels like it. We discussed it a bit Thursday after we shut down the gaming session and prepared to head to bed. Thus far, Qvaid is in on an attempt to 100% Revenge of the Savage Planet.

Here is to hoping we can pull it off!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Players: Eldon, Error, Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: As per has been the recent scheduling, I had quite a few earlier mornings where I logged into The Quinfall for a bit of adventure before the work day started.

Sadly, Qvaid and I didn’t get any gaming in on Monday. She had a few things to do earlier in the morning/early afternoon. I was in The Quinfall while she was taking care of all that. I managed to get a little bit done in the game, but eventually life’s schedule caught up too me as well, and for a day off, it turned into quite a bit of a situation.

Mostly on those early morning sessions, I’m just working on gathering, restocking my base altar, and trade skills in any case as it were. I still enjoy the time, no doubt, but it’s not like I was running through dungeons, raid bosses, or other less tedious adventures right before the work day starts.

Kilen and I alternated playing Quinfall through out the weekend. Effectively anytime there wasn’t some other gaming going on, we hopped into The Quinfall to continue the grind of trade skills and gathering resources. Sadly, other than a stint or so with Eldon, we had very little dungeon crawling, or adventure.

While I still had a blast, and I’m still really enjoying the game, there was certainly some somber moments for me.

Error (my son) decided ultimately he didn’t have the time to pour into a MMO right now, so he divvied up his coin and gear with Kilen and I, and camped for the last time for at least awhile. Perhaps indefinitely, only time will tell.

Ultimately, Kilen and I both understand the decision. MMOs take time to progress, and with Error’s work schedule, time is a bit of a crunch like scenario for him. Error needs a game he can login have fun, and log out without missing days being of much concern. For him at this time at least, that game is R.E.P.O.

Eldon also joined us for a few adventures, it was the few dungeon crawls we chalked up on the docket this weekend as it were.

Days played: Saturday, Sunday

Players: Eldon, Error, Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: As always, the R.E.P.O adventures did not disappoint. This game is certainly a great bit of fun, and a game that can be picked up and put down without much worry of missing sessions in between.

Technically speaking, Eldon’s game time this weekend was relatively short. He spent some time chatting with Kilen and myself quite a bit in our Discord server and he joined in on a few games of The Quinfall and R.E.P.O as scheduling allowed.

Eldon, Error, Kilen, and I certainly did enjoy all the games we played. It’s always a great bit of fun to gather those trinkets in the map, progress to the next stage after the shop visit, and try it all again!

We’ve managed to get a decent amount of weapons and upgrades at this point, and that certainly makes it all the worth while.

The laughs, and good times are always worth the effort when gaming with friends and family!
