This week certainly proved to be a trial and error case with scheduling. Error started a new job and had to make some adjustments to his gaming schedule. Ultimately the change of pace for him cost him Thursday and Friday of this week, although he did get quite a bit of extra time in on Saturday and Sunday, with some breaks and interruptions here and there. Friday was a bit of a somber moment for me as I realized near the last minute that I would be gaming alone. Normally, the group bailing on me on Friday would have just meant that Qvaid and I would hit up one of our games (Likely Outward in this case), but she was hanging out with a friend on Friday evening. I made the best of it in some resource gathering and grinding in 7 Days to Die. In hindsight, I should have called that at some point and hit up Hogwarts Legacy. It was one of the few times I probably could have made some incredible progress if my attention span held up long enough. Even still, no regrets, I did quite a bit of work in 7 Days to Die, which I hope will help our group out quite a bit!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Monday evening was a bit of a late start, Qvaid was working on one of her other favorite hobbies and lost track of time. We did manage to get some play time in Outward after she wrapped up for the evening. Mostly just a bit more grinding around Cierzo. Gathering resources, a few fights, and back to the base for inventory management before calling it a night and to prep for some game time on the following evening.
Qvaid and I jumped head long into some Outward adventures on Tuesday evening! After we ended our session Monday, we had a discussion of some plans to start improving our gear. We decided to go through our stashes at the light house and work on getting some Blue Sand Armor to see if that might help us in any way on our adventures. We managed to get a full set of it for her, and we’ve started the process of getting it for me. Initially we just started for her, because she could use some better armor, and we were not sure at the time of we could get two sets. We had enough Blue Sand and silver to get a complete set for her, although you do have to wait for the Blacksmith to complete each piece. We now have enough materials to complete a set for me as well, although it will take some time to get it all commissioned. We extended our adventures to one of the bandit camps, and I believe we might have it cleared, save for getting the loot from one of the rooms. After all the armor is completed, we’ll need to do a bit more grinding to replace the silver we invested, and some of the materials we decided to sell off to accomplish the desired task at hand!
Wednesday evening, Qvaid and I finished up the Montcalm Bandit camp, and started the process of getting the Blue Sand Armor for me. We did some exploring, and headed over to another bandit camp on the map to start working there. We managed to clear the camp, but fell prey to the Wendigo in the Bandit Prison we went into. Fortunately, Qvaid survived the encounter and zoned out to revive me. We licked our wounds and headed back to town. We managed to build back up a substantial amount of silver considering we burned almost everything we had getting the armor. We did some more gathering and looting, and ended the night with both of us in a full set of Blue Sand Armor with prep work to start the adventure. We have some teas, and wrags (buffs) to get ready and try our hand at that Wendigo again on our next session!

Days played: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Error, Falken, Iron, Hobbit
Comments: Ladies and Gentlemen, it has begun! Three of us (Falken, Iron, and myself), hopped into 7 Days to Die on Thursday evening for our very first Horde night on V1.0 Stable release! Error recently started a new job with a different schedule, so he was at work. Kilen got off work late and got home so late he opted to sit this one out. It was up to the three of us to fend off the waves of undead in our new horde base which we started on V1.0 Experimental. I’m happy to report that it went great! We used a new door tactic at the suggestion of Eldon, and not a single undead was able to penetrate the perimeter of our base. To be fair it was only the 14 day horde because we run 4 hour days on the server, and just swap to a 1 hour day for horde nights. We made use of two punch turrets near the door entrance, and we never even had to close the vault doors we setup on the pathway entrance. Around 7 AM in game, we logged out to bounce the server and set it back to 4H days, Falken had to call it as he had a busy Friday setup, and Iron called it not long after that. I worked on gathering the much needed Iron and Clay to make some steel, and built a cover over the mine I made in the process. It isn’t anything pretty, at this time, it’s just a wooden cover with a ladder down to the bottom of the mine, but it will do for now, and no one should drive off in it by accident. Iron did stay on long enough to help me get a bit of resources before he had to call it. I had a screamer sneak up on me while I was mining and building the mine cover, but fortunately I dispatched it before she summoned any other zombie minions to her aid. Shortly after that, I had the mine cover completed, I hit a few more rounds of gathering, and turned in for the night myself.
Friday evening was a bit interesting for me. I was alone in my gaming adventures as Error was still at work, Falken and Iron were working on that project for a family/friend and MIA, and Kilen was beat by the time he got home Friday evening and called it early. In hind sight, I probably should have used that time to get ahead in my solo run of Hogwarts Legacy, but I did not. As it were, I decided to gather some much needed resources in 7 Days to Die. I finished covering the mine I started and upgraded it to cobblestone (It’s just a mine cover after all), I expanded the base, and moved some of the crafting stations around for better placement. I build a large room and started a mine outside a wall of our main base, and added a room for us to move our beds too. I kept the forges rolling, the cement mixers moving, and did some building, and crafting. It was one of those nights, where you basically say, I’m going to finish this up and start something else, but ultimately you ended up staying up way too late because you jumped from one project to the next.
On Saturday, Error and I jumped into 7DtD and started gathering resources again. Our goal at the time was just breaking down cars for gas as we didn’t have any shale, and most of the vehicles we had were in need of fuel. We ended up with enough to top all the vehicles off and managed to gather some much needed cloth and other various resources in the process. At some point we called it to start gaming with Kilen, and we moved to Chained Together. Error and I later returned to 7DtD after Kilen called it and built a garage in the middle of the night, effectively using up a decent stock of the wood I’d gathered on Friday.
On Sunday, Error and I started out by gathering some wood because we needed to replenish the stock I had gathered on Friday. We moved from there seek out a desert area to get some oil shale, and managed to not only find one, but to gather up a rather large bit of that. *Beware the canyons we left in the desert!* We made it back to the base, did a bit of inventory management, and called it there to join Kilen for some more Chained together!

Days played: Saturday, Sunday
Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: Saturday, after Kilen joined Discord for a bit of gaming, my son convinced him to head into Chained Together for a trial run. Well, I have to say I believe Kilen must have really enjoyed the game! We had a really long session on Saturday of Chained Together where we played until we just could not manage to get past a part we were stuck at for some time. Kilen took a break at that point, but ended up calling it for the night, and Error and I ended up heading back to 7DtD for awhile.
Error, Kilen, and I headed back into Chained Together for an extended session (with breaks and interruptions) on Sunday. This game is really an amazing piece of work. It can certainly have some frustration at times, but just like any co-op game patience and practice is certainly key. We played until later in the evening and managed to COMPLETE! it!
