Hobbit Plays: 05.05.24 – 05.12.24

Hobbit Plays News

This weeks gameplay recount was certainly an interesting one. As always, it was still fun, albeit, a bit off schedule for me. We had some gaming sessions with Error, Kilen, Liquidd, and myself (Hobbit). Although, the session were a mixture of the players listed above. I did enjoy some time with the family at a cookout and bonfire with some family friends. (Hence the change in scheduling for me). Still, it was a nice change of pace, and we still managed some game time with all things considered.

Days played: All week

Players: Hobbit

Comments: On Monday & Tuesday, I started out the gaming fun with some Summoners War. On Mondays, the Monster Subjugation event takes place, where earlier in the day you face Fire, Water, and Wind elements to see how the guild fairs in terms of which Monster Subjugation boss will be faced. The element that had the best outcome, is the boss you face later that day. Monday’s are also the start of the Guild Siege event. In normal gameplay, it’s 1v1v1 where 3 guilds face off to control the most towers, and the first to 20k points wins. There is a starting period for battles on Monday, followed by an Armistice period where no battles can take place, and then Tuesday afternoon, the Siege starts again. In some cases you have Guilds that strategize to take as many bases as fast as possible, and this sometimes secures their win early, albeit, it is rare to win that way, and dangerous of too many of your players burn all their fights too early on. It can leave you in a position where you can’t win any bases back later on which can effectively cause you a loss. I farm through out the day, as scheduling allows, because Summoners War is a game you can run in the background during various activities to accomplish something, even if you aren’t able to dedicate a lot of attention or time too it during those time frames.

More SW on Thursday through out the various time frames where I could. Thursdays mark the second Guild Siege event for the week, which I always try to participate in, although I have had a few missed sieges here and there when the schedule was just too packed.

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: On Monday & Tuesday evening, once everything had settled down, my wife and I picked back up in our Trine 4 adventures! We made some decent progress at our own pace, and we’ve really been enjoying this wonderful series of games, chalked full of combat, puzzles, and story!

Given that the guys had to call it early on Thursday evening, and the night was still relatively young. In a somewhat rare occurrence, my wife and I hopped into some Trine 4 and made our way through some of the Prince’s nightmarish adventures again!

What? I know it was Mother’s Day (Sunday). My wife wanted to play some Trine 4 to wind out the remainder of the evening. I gladly obliged the request. We hopped back into our Trine 4 adventures and finished up the evening with a well spent gaming session in a truly remarkable game!

Days played: Wednesday

Players: Family Night

Comments: We had a family movie night, so that was pretty much all the game play I had for Wednesday. The movie was an older one, but still a great comedy that we all enjoyed! Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral was the movie of choice for the night.

Days played: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Players: Error, Hobbit, Kilen

Comments: We had some Desinty 2 gameplay with the guys on Thursday evening. Kilen, Error, and I (Hobbit) started walking through some of the requirements to gain Rank 7 shortly after, although it was a relatively short session as well.

Unfortunately, Liquidd was having some internet issues, so while my son and I started a dungeon run with him, it was short lived as the tethering solution Liquidd was using was not quite up to par. Kilen, Error, and myself, all purchased expansions and content (or most of it) for Destiny 2, to start off the Friday evening gaming. From there, we started working through more of the requirements for Rank 7. My son bounced early on us, so Kilen and I moved back to some Summoners War gameplay for a bit. I ended up staying up WAY later than I intended while talking with Kilen & Dulander (Kilen’s brother), and working through some things in SW. I re-runed some monsters and swapped out a few of my Siege Defenses, etc… along side some farming.

On Saturday, Error and I started some Destiny 2 gaming on and off earlier in the day. We were playing with Kilen, but called it a bit abruptly to eat some lunch. Kilen called it shortly after to watch some shows with his wife, and he disappeared for the day after that. Error and I decided to hit a cookout and bon fire with the family at a family friend’s home for a change of pace. After that however, we joined Liquidd for an amazing run through Warlord’s Ruin! We didn’t complete the dungeon as it was getting late, with our late start, and the fact that Liquidd is really the only one of us appropriately geared. We stopped at what I believe is the last boss, and Liquidd explained that given everything works out, he can save the progress and we can pick back up there later to finish up the boss fight. I’ll say that Destiny 2 dungeons are certainly challenging and fun!

On Sunday, Error and I only played long enough to run a Gambit on Sunday. We got up early enough to power through a quick match, before the rest of the family got up and moving around, and called it after that. Something is better than, nothing and it was Mother’s Day. Amirite? 🙂

Call of Duty: Mobile

Days played: Sunday

Players: Family Time

Comments: Ironically, my daughter brought up this game while my wife, my son, my son’s wife, my daughter, and I were sitting outside enjoying the weather. We all downloaded it on our phones, and managed a couple matches together. I have to admit, it was quite a bit more fun than I thought it would be. Granted we didn’t do any massive progression, and the overall game play of the session was rather short all things considered, it was an enjoyable experience. I haven’t played any CoD games since the first, which I played through on a single player campaign a LONG time ago. I haven’t added CoD:M to the games page at this time, and in truth, I’m not sure I will. It’s rare I play games in the mobile scene these days. Save for Summoners War, which I play on an Amazon Fire HD tablet and my PC (mostly PC when I can). Otherwise, I’ve kind of moved away from the mobile scene.
