Hobbit Plays: 03.01.24 – 03.03.24

Hobbit Plays News

This weekend was AMAZING! There was variety! There was fun! There was suspense! There was action! There was GAMING! There were also chores, and a repair to a line for the icemaker on the refrigerator, but still time for the GAMING! Saturday started off interesting, with some signs of an issue on the kitchen floor. Further inspection showed, the icemaker line was leaking. I halted the gameplay, and got to work on getting that taken care of. Surprisingly, unlike most repair attempts, we got it knocked out, and it after some cleanup, it was time to make another attempt at some gaming.

In the case of the unknowns below, I walked through the Hobbit Plays posts to use a new formatting I’ve decided on, and unfortunately in some of these older posts, I didn’t list who all played and/or what days we played in some cases.

Days played: All week

Players: Hobbit

Comments: The usual daily quests, event dailies, farming, and typical SW shenanigans!

Days played: All weekend

Players: Error, Hobbit

Comments: We managed to get some Red Dead Online sessions going a few times over the course of the weekend. My son and I made sure we played it at least a little every day starting on Thursday night, and through out the weekend. Those Bounty Hunter rewards ended today, and we were trying to accumulate some funds before it regretfully comes to an end. Ultimately, I got what I was after. I made Naturalist level 5, got the Wilderness Camp and the Fast Travel from the Wilderness Camp! Got some funds left over after all the grinding.

Days played: All week

Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: My son and I managed to wake up early EVERY DAY last week to get in some HLL matches before the work day started for either of us. To top off all that war combat fun, we had a total of 5 people in our gaming group, playing this masterpiece over the weekend! It was truly an amazing game play experience! So far as we can tell, everyone that played LOVED IT! This game is so much fun. I won’t lie, it’s incredibly difficult, and certainly takes an impeccable amount of team work, but win or lose, I had an absolute blast playing it!

Comments: That’s right citizens! Several of us squashed some bugs in a few gameplay sessions of Helldivers 2 over this weekend! Sadly, the game only supports up to 4 players, so we had a few sessions where either someone didn’t have it or there were too many players for us to play together. Never-the-less we found time, and as I was fired like a bullet from that destroyer, smashed into the planets surface, and arose to aid my fellow Helldivers to victory. I’m extremely impressed with what Helldivers 2 brings to the table! I’m still currently a low level cadet, but I’m looking forward to as many sessions of this work of art as we can muster! It’s jam packed with action! Accidental deaths (friendly fire) are unfortunate, but can certain make for some HILARIOUS times. My son called in a reinforcement for me when I went down, and my helldiving bullet casket, landed on top of him! LOL. I almost had to lay down, I was laughing so hard! The commentary from it was a riot!

Days played: Sunday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: With all the combat intense gameplay this weekend. It was certainly a pleasure to fire up a good session of Stardew Valley with my wife Sunday evening. We got a bit of a late start, but still managed to have a great time working our way through Ginger Island content! We’ve grown the Melon, Garlic, and Wheat the Frog wanted to see, activated almost everything we’ve found (save for I think the final upgrade to our Island Farm House. We have a full (or as full as we could get it) set of Ancient Fruit growing on the island, and managed quite a few dives into the Volcano dungeon to see what treasure might await us there. I did have to make a trip back to our farmhouse in Stardew which ended up being a couple days. (Marnie for the love of God, are you EVER at work!? I need to purchase hay for our animals!?) I eventually got the hay we needed, filled up the silos (well not full, but enough), repaired the fences to the barn and coup, gathered up all the fruit and ancient fruit from the greenhouse, and loaded back up on the boat for Ginger Island! My wife and I will be playing again over the next couple nights to add to our progress and adventures!
