As always, the weekend was packed with some PC gaming fun. Sadly, not quite as many joined us on the adventures as weekends prior, but we still managed quite a bit of fun none-the-less. Our recent buddy to join us in the RDO action was MIA, and asides from this, one of our other friends was MIA in another game all of Saturday. Still my son and I had a great time gaming together, and one of our buddies joined in, on what turned into a fantastic gaming session for a good portion of Sunday. Ironically, my wife was tired after work on Sunday evening, and thus we didn’t hit up Stardew Valley, although, there should be some gameplay of that on Monday, 5th, and Tuesday, 6th!

Days played: All week
Players: Hobbit
Comments: Typically speaking, it goes without saying that I played Summoners War: Sky Arena. I play SW, on a daily basis for the most part. Given a lot of the gameplay is just running through the daily quests, completing the events, and then farming either runes, grinds, or gems. I started SW in 2017, and I’ve been playing it on and off ever since. Several of us playing (albeit some only friends in SW) have recently got our first LD Nat 5. One of our gaming buddies even managed to get 2 in relatively quick succession. It’s a game I love, although as the description says in the games list, it’s not something I thought I would ever enjoy in terms of games I like to play. I’ve found this genre to be very appealing to me over the years.

Days played: Friday, Sunday
Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: Friday night started out with 3 of us roaming around in Red Dead Online. It was fun, albeit a bit short lived for a Friday night. The recent patches to RDO seem to have shown some improvements for us all in terms of the bugs we’ve encountered since started. It’s not perfect, but we’ve all certainly noticed a difference. There seems to be less crashes, and it might have just been lucky sessions, but we seemed to have noticed a decent dip in the number of hackers in RDO over the weekend. We picked back up on Sunday for a fairly long and great session for most of the day, even managing a bit later into the evening than is typical for a Sunday.

Days played: Saturday, Sunday (I think)
Players: Error, Hobbit
Comments: My son recently purchased GTA:V for me so we could play together on PC. In truth, I already had plans to get the game on the next Steam sale, as my love for Red Dead Online, lead me to believe it might certainly hold some decent value for me to play. Much like Red Dead Online, it seems to have some issues with hackers, but one of the bonuses of GTA:V is friend, crew only sessions. My son and I started playing GTA: V after our buddy called it in RDO a bit early Friday night. That session turned into quite a bit later than either of us had intended. Much like my start with RDO, I had quite a few great laughs, and certainly an enjoyable time over all from the gameplay. I did go through some struggles with trying to adapt to the keyboard and a controller over the weekend, but ultimately I think I’ve settled on the keyboard and mouse, and I’m starting to see some improvements from the practice. Initially, it was far easier to drive vehicles with the controller, but my combat abilities were certainly lacking. I had thoughts of attempting a hybrid scenario where I used the controller for driving, and the keyboard and mouse for combat, but the more I played with the k/m combination, the more I was able to adapt to it. For now, this is going to be the go to game my son and I play together when our other gaming buddies are not online.
