Another grand set of adventures this week for this ole Hobbit! Qvaid and I continued our play through of Cat Quest II, I had multiple sessions of No Man’s Sky before my work day started, Error and I hit up some Schedule I fairly heavy, and we had a SMALL ARMY in our Return to Moria sessions!
Iron was kind enough to get a computer up for a dedicated server for Return to Moria (and later other games I suspect). I helped him get things going. That went relatively well, save for an issue concerning network traffic from his ISP. Once that was ironed out, all the work we put in prior just fell into place!
Let me tell you, the performance issues I had prior in Return to Moria are SO MUCH better! The game runs relatively well in Linux, but hosting on top of running the game was problematic at times to say the least!
I did have a bit of a scheduling blunder myself. On Sunday, neither Error nor myself played Return to Moria. I was about spent from the weekend. Too many nights staying up till 5 AM and waking up without enough sleep. This caused me to bow out on the group on Sunday. I spent the evening catching up on TV shows with Qvaid, and we called it a night after that.
On Tuesday evening we were blessed with another night with Error and his family (our son), Munchkin and her family (our daughter) for some family time. We mostly played cards again, and caught up on what was going on with their lives. It is always a great time!
Take it from a Hobbit that knows. Spend time with your kids and grand kids. They grow up far faster than you can ever imagine! I mean, obviously balance it with things you need or want to do, but definitely dedicate time to them as well. 🙂
Game long, my friends. Game hard.

Highlights

Days played: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Qvaid and I missed Tuesday evening because we were having the family time, I mentioned above. The remainder of the week we made great progress (or at least it felt like it) in Cat Quest II. We are working on side quests, dungeons, the story, and the primary quests.
Qvaid settled on several pieces of gear more of a tank / damage hybrid set. Eventually, I moved from from a healer set to more of a tank/damage set myself.
In truth, I would prefer to just keep the healing role, but I kind of suck at it. The way combat goes just makes it kind of hard to be efficient with it as you have to be close, and getting hit cancels the attempt and takes all your mana.
That said, the changes have certainly been an improvement. We are able to roll through enemies so much faster, and we save the heals for either pinch situations or after combat has ended.

Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Error, Falken, Iron, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: While all of the gaming for this week was amazing. I’d be lying if I didn’t mention that the Return to Moria sessions were truly the hightlight of the weekend for me!
I know I skipped Sunday, but we had some many people playing on Friday and Saturday, that I was in awe! It was just like old times on the 7 Days to Die server! Error, Falken, Iron, Kilen, and myself were back on the trail!
Working our way through the depths gathering resources, fighting off hordes of orcs, and building up our outposts!
We’ve managed to get up to Tier II gear and weapons. Well, all T2 except our helm which is T3.
It was truly awesome to have so much of the crew back in the same game again! Mucho thanks to Iron for providing the resources for a dedicated server! That has made the adventure so much more enjoyable for me in terms of the games performance!

Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Error, Hobbit
Comments: The sessions of Schedule I were pretty epic for Error and I over the course of the weekend. We are still working with the cartel, but it appears either there is a bug OR the turn ins for that are intended for whomever is running the game. In this particular run, I am running the game.
We noted if Error hands the Cartel the product they don’t pay properly, when I do it is right on the scale.
We ended the game session on Sunday with building up the Barn for one product and are planning on setting the Bungalow for another product. Sadly neither are completely ready to roll out, but they are both getting close. Scheduling caught up to us Sunday and as I mentioned above I called it early on Sunday.
