Expression Games had some announcements today to address some outages with AWS and EOS concerning the Hotfix Update. It appears to be stalling the deployment of the Hotfix to Epic Games services due to an outage associated with AWS. You can take a peek at the official message on their Discord server, here.
The initial message is followed by several more, which I included below for convenience. Stay safe out there soldiers!
AWS & EOS Outage, & Hotfix Update
We’re aware of a major AWS (Amazon Web Services) outage, alongside the EOS outage, which is causing players to not be able to access games & other web-based services.
We’re actively monitoring the situations with both parties and we are hoping for a resolution to the problems as soon as possible.
We are still aiming to deliver the Update 18 Hotfix 1 today, however we will keep you updated as to the status of the AWS and EOS issues which may delay release. Thank you for your patience and we hope to deliver the hotfix as soon as we can.
Update – AWS Outage + Hotfix Release
Since the worldwide AWS outage, there are still a number of services (Epic included) are still experiencing outages.
Due to Epic still being down, we are unfortunately not able to deliver the hotfix just yet. Once the Epic backend comes back online, we will aim to deliver the Hotfix to you asap
Thank you for your patience and understanding
Hotfix Update – Ongoing AWS Outage Issues
Due to the outage caused by AWS, Epic’s backend is still down not allowing us to roll out the hotfix. We also still do not have an ETA given to us from Epic as to when this will be resolved making it look less and less hopeful for a resolution today.
With this in mind, and with many servers booting up for seeding, we will now be looking to deliver the hotfix tomorrow, as long as Epic’s issue has been resolved.
This outage has been as frustrating for us as it has been for you, and we really thank you all for you patience with us @HLL News. We can’t wait to get this hotfix out to you asap.
