Games

Updated: 09.23.24

Gaming has played a fairly important role in my life for quite some time. It has been a hobby that I have always found joy in, albeit, if not an addiction as well of sorts. I have slowly learned the importance to make time for other things as well. I find the balance I have today to be decent, even if a good majority of my time is still spent gaming. I chose to reuse the image there because a vast majority of my gaming experience is with family and friends. Everything from pen and paper D&D, board games, cards, and of course video games! The information below is a bit of an explanation on the legend ‘I’ used for the current status of games in the list, and a brief explanation of games in said list.

Current Status Legend

  • Not Completed – I have not yet got around to completing these games.
  • Completed – I have completed the story mode and/or mode that has a viable ending.
  • No Ending – The game has either no story mode, no definable ending, or no manner in which to ‘Complete’ it.
  • Retired – For various reasons, I’ve decided to retire said game. Generally, when that happens I have no plans to return to it (Granted it doesn’t always set that in stone either. 😉 ).

While the list of games here will change over time, it’s certainly not the limit to the total number of games I have or like. In theory, the list should only grow over time as it’s rare I remove games from this list. I’m not really reviewing these games per se, but you’ll only see games I’m either currently playing or played at some point and like as such.

Concerning the genre I place the games and the status legends I’ve created. In some cases, I may have the genre ‘wrong’ and in some cases they might actually have a viable ending, but I classified them as such because I either seen them placed in that genre, or by my play style they have no viable ending. I tend to classify MMOs and Survival games like that. Technically speaking, some of those game genres do have a ‘viable’ ending, but their design is not usually classified as such. Valheim tends to be an example of this for me. It does have a story line to follow and technically complete, however you can still keep building on that world, and most players do even after they complete said story.
