What started out as a random game conversation with my son and I, ended in a weekend packed with some good times. Three of us picked up Friday The 13th: The Game over the weekend, and had a blast running through various maps of Crystal Lake either trying to avoid being brutally murdered by Jason and/or as Jason attempting to make those counselors pay! If you check the Games -> Survival list, you’ll note the addition of this masterpiece at the bottom. In truth, we did try to recruit more of our gaming group to the fray, but alas, their schedules (or perhaps their hearts) did not align for the mayhem that ensued.
Alas there is certainly some bad news concerning the state of the game. According to Steam, the last day the game will be available for purchase from the store is: 12/31/2023. After that the game is supposed to be up until at least 12/31/2024, and after that, the state remains undetermined. Currently you can pick up this whirl of fun for around $5 and even pick up the DLC for roughly a total somewhere around $12. It has all been discounted in light of the possible fact that it will be brought down from online play on the 31st of next year. This appears to be due to a lawsuit in effect with the franchise, and it’s certainly a shame that it will impact even a game created around 2017. In any case, our group has a touch over a year to enjoy what remains of the game until the fate is finally decided. Who knew all it would take to bring down the immortal Jason Voorhees was Lawyers!?
