Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core

Games News

I admit, upon my initial glance, I thought Rogue Core was likely just a season for Deep Rock Galactic. Hence why I went with the original DRG image (For now, it will have to do as I’m not sure if our group (or myself) will be diving into DRG: Rogue Core just yet.) I dug into it a bit deeper today after noting the mention of the Live Playtest and Closed Alpha Update 04.

It appears Ghost Ship Games has decided to branch off their game into another direction as well. A quick look at the store page, shows what appears to be DRG with some changes. You can take a peek as well on their Steam page, here.

It appears to be, well very, DRG like. It is certainly on my radar for now, although, I’m not positive if I’ll bite just yet. The play style seems to be geared more towards starting fresh every run. This paired with the trouble I already have getting our group to play for more than a few sessions, would certainly be a complicated set of events.

I don’t mean that in an offensive term, mind you. I love Deep Rock Galactic dearly, and several in our group is rather fond of it. Unfortunately, it just isn’t high on the list of games we frequent. To be honest, that list has dwindled quite a bit in recent years as we tire of some of the other games we love so dearly. The fact that several of us are playing a MMO also doesn’t help that situation any. Especially in terms of variety of game play. MMOs are intense, and take quite a bit of time and dedication to progress after all.

Even still, I’ll try to keep an eye on the progress of DRG: Rogue Core. It does have all the things I love about games! Adventure, humor, action (and mining space dwarves!)!
