It Takes Two

It Takes Two is a gem of a game by Hazelight Studios. I had seen it on numerous Steam sales over the years, and the title did peak my interest, but I did not decide to take the plunge. Quite awhile back, I asked my wife if she would like to attempt a play through of it with me, and it sparked the gaming adventures we share even to this day! Everything about this game is a masterpiece. The humor, artwork, storyline, and even the co-op play style make it a unique title well worth the price. I actually paid full price for it on Steam, which is rare for me as I usually wait for sales. There were never any regrets, this game is amazing!

Unravel Two is the closet things my wife and I have found to It Takes Two in our search for the next perfect Co-Op gaming experience. While it doesn’t quite come as close as we’d hoped, it certainly is an enjoyable game for those looking for a great puzzle like genre of games. In our current walk through we haven’t encountered a lot of enemies, and most of the game play has consisted of figuring out a way to reach the next area the light you seek has run off too. All that said, it’s still be a wonderful experience! If co-op gaming and puzzles are something you enjoy, this might be a game for you and/or your gaming friends. It can be played solo as to my understanding of the game play, but I find it a much more enjoyable experience trying to accomplish the tasks with someone you enjoy gaming with.

This game is a fantastic puzzle game. There is nothing in the way of combat, but it holds some beautiful art and music. My wife and I completed a play through of it, in our search for another gem like It Takes Two. While it doesn’t really come to that level for us, it was still a very enjoyable experience. We didn’t collect every scarf on our journey, and have since moved on. I don’t expect it to hold an incredible amount of replay value to be fair. We discussed it briefly after we completed the game, and have since decided to move on to another adventure. It is worth a look, however, for those interested in playing a puzzle type game of sorts. Only complaint I really had was the fact that ‘both’ of us couldn’t use a controller. I made due with the keyboard, and let my wife use an XBox based controller since she was more adept at using a controller.

Another title that isn’t really just a co-op game. You can certainly roll through this aged master piece solo. I haven’t played it solo myself, and in fact I’ve had the title for some time. My son picked it up during the recent Summer Sale, and I loaded it up at his request to run through the co-op with him. As a platform puzzler with little combat, it is still an incredible amount of fun. We almost died laughing the first time, I got side tracked, stepped off a switch, and crushed my son with a door. So many laughs, and such a great time. Every moment we spent playing it has been blast for us both. co-op games have become one of my most favorite genres of games as of late.

bi-ped

I can’t say that I would recommend bi-ped to just any gamer. The controls certainly take some getting used too, and the level of cooperation required with your gaming partner certainly raises the bar in comparison to other games. All that said, if co-op games are your thing, and you and your gaming partner are patience; bi-ped could certainly be a game you might enjoy. My understanding on the ‘story’ is that it is rather short. It certainly brought us joy to see how our gameplay has improved as we progressed at a rather slow rate in comparison to how fast we should complete the levels. bi-ped certainly tested our co-op gaming skills. Speaking strictly from my wife and my point of view, it was an enjoyable experience. I can see where the controls and level of cooperation required might try the patience of those not particularly used to games like bi-ped.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake

“Guide two brothers on an epic journey of discovery, loss, adventure and mystery remade for the latest generation of graphics, performance, and gameplay. Play in single-player mode or local co-op with a friend. This is one journey you will never forget.”
Another title from Josef Fares my wife and I are thrilled to make a play through of! Granted, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons came before It Takes Two!, however that is the adventure that started these games nights some time ago for my wife and I! I imagine this game will certainly be a worthy journey for us to add to the other games we’ve played since that adventure started!
