Qvaid and I completed our play through of biped 2 as we were finishing up our gaming on Thursday evening.
While we certainly ran into a touch of frustrations here and there, the over all experience in biped 2 was chalked full of grand adventure, humor, and fantastic co-op game play.
In truth, we both expected it to be a relatively short run, after having played the original biped. biped 2 can support up to 4 players, also features a ‘solo’ mode, along with normal and hard difficulties.
Qvaid and I certainly did not break any records, but the ultimate goal of completing the game was something we did manage to achieve. “Don’t ask us how we did it, we just did it! It was hard!” I say mostly in jest. We had a few levels we struggled with for a bit, mostly with coordinating together as that is effectively the main focus of the game.
Eventually, we would get our actions in coordination with each other line and sweet victory was the reward. The wonky controls and humor is the main reason we loved the series (biped and biped 2) so much. Some of the situations you can get placed in are just hilarious, and the controller settings (each joystick is a leg on your cute robotic avatar) make for a very interesting bit of gameplay!
As for Qvaid and my opinion on biped 2, it was certainly worth it to us. It makes for a unique co-op gaming experience where working together in most cases is an absolute must. Everything from maintaining a safe distance to your robot partner to assisting each other with the tasks and puzzle.
By the end of our run, Qvaid would frequently say, “I know, I know! Only one foot!”. LOL, to hint as we had a bit of some struggle with the color coded platforms where you have to coordinate with your partner to get across. If someone sets their foot down at the wrong time, the platform disappears, and well… you both dead.
Now, for the record, I am fairly patient in terms of gaming together. I mean, I’ve got no room to point fingers after all. I make mistakes all the time. The term above was more or less a joke we were tossing back and forth during our play through.
Much like the original biped, I can’t say the game would be for everyone that enjoys co-op game play. You should definitely be patient (at least to an extent), and enjoy having to work together. The controls can take some getting used too. That said, it can certainly be a fantastic adventure if you and your gaming friends, family, partner are willing to over come the obstacles listed.
Game long, my friends. Game hard.
