Baldur’s Gate 3: Hotfix # 36

Games News

Larian Studios announced a surprise hotfix for Baldur’s Gate 3 today via their Discord, website, and Steam page. You can adventure your way over to their website for a look at the official patch message, here.

Aces and Kilen had a BG3 game going somewhat recently (Read: before The Quinfall took over all our lives). I don’t recall hearing any complaints from them, but to be fair, their sessions appeared to be on Mondays during work time for me. I wasn’t able to participate as it were.

In any case, all fixes, patches, updates, etc… from a game that has ended its effective content life are certainly a great show of character from the companies behind them.

Explore well, travel safe, and try not to consume too many of those tadpoles, my adventurous friends.

Hotfix # 36

Hey folks,

Our last small update, which aimed to resolve corrupted savegames affecting a number of players, seemed to have also introduced some performance issues that triggered crashes. Thank you for your patience while these were investigated!

A fix is now rolling out for all platforms that addresses these performance issues and some other crashes and blockers that were still affecting players.

FIXES

  • Fixed a framerate drop and eventual crash when loading a savegame.
  • Fixed several crashes.
  • Fixed a bug on Xbox where tooltips in the Inventory and Trade windows wouldn’t display correctly.
  • Fixed a bug on Mac preventing you from progressing past Character Creation after starting a character introduction cinematic on Honour Mode.
