
Team 17 announced that the Windows Defender Issue has been resolved after escalating the issue to Microsoft. If you take a look at the previous orders here, Soldier you’ll note it was a problem that started somewhere around the 5th of January, 2026.
That seems to be somewhat of a lengthy problem to say the least. Although, it involves Microsoft, and appeared to be out of the hands of Team 17. I won’t say I’m surprised in the slightest that it was almost a 10 day turn around.
In truth, I’m curious if Microsoft ever openly admitted to the fault, or if they just passed on the blame game back and forth until someone finally stumbled upon the resolution. We will probably never know.

UPDATE – Windows Defender False Positive Issue Resolved – January 14, 2026 at 8:00 AM
After escalating to Microsoft, we have now had confirmation that this issue has now been resolved, with Microsoft fixing the problem. If you continue to have any issues with the Windows Defender, do contact the T17 #unknown-channel team
