The schedule for this week’s Hobbit Plays was definitely a bit out of sorts. That isn’t a complaint mind you, it was for a good reason. We had our annual CliffCon event!
Error, ColdCheese, Falken, Iron, Kilogre, SoSirius, and myself meet at Iron’s home for a grand set of adventures and comradery.
As such, you’ll probably notice a lack of Honorable Mentions, and over all game sessions accounted for in this Hobbit Plays below.
Fret not, my fellow gamers! We still played many games! There were several board games, some darts, foosball, a bit of emulator arcade, and some D&D!
For myself, I would have to say the highlight would be the closure to a character story that started something around 25+ years ago. Granis, a dwarven battle rager, and his love Helga. Their stories were closed by the end of the D&D one shot campaign we ran this year. There was still much to the story, I suspect we were not quite privy too, but it was a one shot campaign after all, and there was only so much time to be had.
Even still, I feel like it went remarkably well! It was challenging and adventurous! It gave closure to a campaign started so very long ago that met a very untimely end several times at least in my opinion. While the characters we played we certainly not the one of several we had already played in the troubled lands of Radzyn, it was still an honor to traverse them at least one more time so many years later!
I finished out Sunday evening watching some tv shows with Qvaid, and later much to the surprise to, well, even myself. I watched two, yes two, movies!? I couldn’t really believe it myself. Granted that is also why I was up until 5 AM+ Monday morning. As I finished up the last movie, I had obviously lost track of time. That isn’t really hard to do on the second day of a ‘time change’, after all. I went to be shortly after.
While neither movie was likely popular, or a block buster by any means, I enjoyed both in their own right. I admit, the last movie I watched was a bit of a low budget zombie flick. I can only add, I’ve seen better, but I’ve certainly seen worse.
I’m a Hobbit after all, we are a lot that is generally easy to please.
Game long my friends, game hard.

Highlights

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Monday evening, Qvaid and I were met with a bit of some scheduling challenges. As such we got a late start, but the progress was still epic!
We managed to gather a slew of pets, made our way into Vulcan, and even cleared it completely as far as we can tell!
We ended the night with a bit of work on our base, crafting some more lumber and mana chunks for further adventures this week.
We also put down some more farm plots, because we want to start working on the collections at The Ark, and need quite a bit of crops to move forward with that.
Ultimately, we were up far later than we initially intended, but it was definitely a great set of adventures, fun, and laughs!
Tuesday evening, was a fine bit of adventure yet again. Qvaid and I recently acquired a piece of gear, that allowed us to access some new areas on The Pet Island, and after a bit of grinding in several zones trying to finish them up, we headed there to work on all that.
We also did some building at our base, mostly to prepare for some crops we need to attempt to complete the collections at The Ark.
We decided to attempt our very first Obelisk. It was the Obelisk of Winter, which we promptly activated for the + Cold Protection. As we gather more Blue Eyed Orbs, we’ll probably complete more of those. It really looks like we might be trying to attempt a 100% completion on Dysmantle!
Wednesday evening, Qvaid and I were able to stay up later than normal. I would be leaving for CliffCon on Thursday sometime, and I didn’t have to work, so we figured it might be a great time to get in a bit of extra game time.
We continued on the attempts to get more locked boxes, fishing spots, dig sites, mana rifts and all the other activities that go into trying to completely clear an area.

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday
Players: Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: The majority of Monday – Wednesday consisted of working on daily Board Quests before my work day started, and lots and lots of Caravan Runs!
I left for CliffCon on Thursday, and was there until about 12:30 PM CST. Error dropped me off at my house later that afternoon, I helped him load up his car, and he was headed back home himself. I did manage to play a bit of The Quinfall on Sunday. Mostly just gathering some ore and plants to try to restock some of my wares that were getting dangerously low.
I also made a caravan run or so, and spent some time chatting with Kilen in Discord. I had a brief conversation with Aces as well, but I wasn’t able to join them for their The Quinfall shenanigans.
Shortly after Aces joined, I was already planning to head out to spend some time with Qvaid. We watched some tv shows to catch up on some missed episodes. She fell asleep, and once again, I stayed up FAR later than I had intended.
