A glorious week of gaming at a close! There was plenty of Dysmantle for Qvaid and I, and plenty of The Quinfall on the list for Kilen and I. Error had to work, and Eldon did join us here and there for a bit of dungeon runs and chat. Aces also hopped into Discord to chat with us while he was running his way through some Hogwarts Legacy.
Falken, Iron, and SoSirius were pretty much MIA as they have been for some time now as it were. Maybe one day, they’ll at least hop into Discord for a bit of some chat. I’ll see those 3 slackers over the course of this week at our annual gaming convention!
With that in mind, the schedule for next week’s gameplay recount will definitely be a bit off.
On an unrelated note, it does seem like Qvaid and I might be closing in on the end game of Dysmantle at this point. There is still plenty for us to do, albeit, I’m not sure how long exactly it will take us to accomplish those goals and to complete the game.
The Quinfall has a surprisingly strong grip on my gaming sessions as of late, which I’m sure has been noticeable in the Hobbit Plays posts. I’m just really enjoying the game a lot. It reminds me quite a bit of the days of ole in EverQuest, as I previously mentioned. Kilen and I were hopeful some of the gang might be interested in joining at some point. Alas, the game is still young, so there is always hope!
Game long, my friends. Game hard.

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: On Monday evening, Qvaid and I got a really late start. In truth the scheduling was a bit busted, so our initial intent was to catch up on a few shows we had episodes pending for.
We finished those up and decided we would hop back into Dysmantle to finish out the night after all. We managed to gain a level for our characters, and worked through all the dig sites, shelter, wells, etc… in Boralis before time caught up to us and it was time to turn in for the night.
Tuesday evening was an epic adventure for Qvaid and I. We finished up the Arcturus area and moved into Frosthorn to start exploration there. We managed to get on a bit early and have a fairly long session of gaming ahead of us.
We made level 85, and got somewhere over a touch of half way through that level.
We’ve also started to get really good at clearing the areas we visit almost completely, or at least as complete as we can get them for our current progress.
On that note, we have yet to activate even a single obelisk. We prefer to save the blue eye orbs for activating in the Link Towers for now. I suspect we might start the obelisks once we have all the areas open and the link towers in the order we would prefer.
Qvaid and I were wracking up the progress again on Wednesday evening. We finished up Frosthorn, and managed to head back to Hedgefield and Borealis for the Mythic Tablets. This leaves us only needing the one from the Crown as far as we can tell from our progress.
Now there in lies another problem. We thought we found a way to get into the Crown, but it turned out the one area we managed to find concerning it, did not in fact lead us to the Crown. At that point in the evening, it was time to call it, so we never did find a valid way to enter the area. We may end up having too look it up, and truthfully, we are ok with that method should it come to that.
On Thursday evening, after a slight be of research, Qvaid and I learned we needed to get into the Crown to get the final Mythic Tablet. I mean technically we already knew this, but… we were struggling with a manner in which to breach the Crowns defenses and make our way there. We found we needed 4 fuel cells, which we had noted several before, but were not able to ‘recover’ them.
The research helped, we fought the bosses, retrieved the fuel cells, and were well on our way. We not only got into the Crown, as far as we can tell by the end of our gaming session on Thursday evening, we had completed all the tasks there, save for stocking the escape pod with various forms of Mana.
We are reluctant do do that just yet because we still have content we want to complete first, and we are worried that might initial the ‘end’ of the game/run. So after a bit of discussion, Qvaid and I decided we would just come back to that quest later.
For Qvaid and I the adventure is more so about the over all journey, and thus far the journey in Dysmantle has been INCREDIBLE!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Eldon, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: Per my typical routine, and somewhat new addiction. I spent a good portion of the week days logging in before work and doing what little bit I could in The Quinfall before the work day started. In most cases it was just things like feeding my livestock, checking the Central Market, a bit of gathering when feasible (and I woke up early enough). The vast majority of it, however, was things I could automate in the background. Things like running caravans, or auto-fishing. When I can, I leave The Quinfall up in the background while I work.
Over the weekend, Eldon, Kilen, and I managed to get in some dungeon runs, and even some farming in some of the camps around the map with level 100 creatures!
We leveled up pets, we got weapon skills, and we managed some levels. Eldon would hop in from time to time in between running caravan runs, and group up with Kilen and I for some dungeon runs. He participated in at least one camp we did in the open world, albeit, it was fairly short lived for him.
Kilen and I managed to get some new gear upgrades, and started the process of ‘enchanting’ and ’empowering’ the new gear. For me this was a fairly dramatic upgrade as I was wearing uncommon gear somewhere between level 60 and 75, and now I’m in all rare level 75 gear, with 3 star enchantments, power stones, and talismans. Granted I’m still missing a talisman enchant for an earring and I got a bracer upgrade for a level 75 legendary piece I’m working on as well.
I can’t speak for Kilen, but I am certainly falling behind the curve a bit on gathering resources. While I try to play every day, I haven’t had time to gather before my work day started, and the things I let The Quinfall do in the background while working don’t include gathering resources. It takes a bit of time, and I don’t have that kind of time to spare during work hours.
I suppose I need to get back into the habit of gathering resources on weekend nights/days when no one is on to get stocked up again. I’ll figure out a schedule soon enough.
At this stage, Kilen and I are able to run all the dungeons on Very Hard difficulty as a duo and in some cases with 3 total when Eldon joins in. He’s still quite a bit behind us in level, but he is managing a few levels per weekend, so it is certainly not completely out of his reach should he want to catch up to us.
The variety, and addition of adding open world camps was a nice change of pace for me. I will admit, I do wish the drop rates of loot were increased a bit as that does seem quite lacking on open world grinding. I’m hopeful it might be something addressed at some point in the near future. Otherwise it does seem to be a great way to grind out some character levels and/or weapon levels. Heck, even your pets can gain a bit of experience outside of their typical exp gains in most cases!
Kilen and I finished out Sunday evening with some dungeon runs, inventory management, and tending to our livestock. I even managed to plant a few crops, which I’ve sorely slacked down on lately.
