Hobbit Plays: 09.15.25 – 09.21.25

Hobbit Plays News

Another week of gaming on the docket! The variety of games in this weeks line up was certainly a bit limited.

Error is back on his work schedule, and the time frames don’t really allow him time to game on work days. Eldon was in a bit more of a social mode, and did login to chat, but mostly just auto-fished in The Quinfall while he was multitasking chatting with Kilen, Aces, and I or doing chores. Aces also hopped into Discord a bit to chat, but he was playing Starfield the majority of his gaming schedule this week/weekend. SoSirius, Iron, and Falken have been MIA for some time. Although to be fair, I’ve had a bit of chat in Steam here and there with SoSirius, and he’s played a few games solo based on his Steam profile.

I look over the Steam profiles of the gang to get the Honorable mentions listed on Hobbit Plays. Games that were played, but not necessarily with the majority of the group. Even still, there wasn’t a lot in the way of Honorable Mentions this week. It seems the ebil foosball has a good portion of the group locked down. I’m not much of a fan myself, but I don’t fault anyone for enjoying other hobbies as it were.

All that said, this week was still great! While the variety wasn’t necessarily there, I enjoyed grinding away in The Quinfall and all the gaming sessions Qvaid and I had in Dysmantle. I’m not opposed to solo game play by any means, it’s just not something I set aside time for myself. I enjoy the little bit of the social aspect I get from gaming. Whether that is with the gang on the weekends, or Qvaid during the week days.

For me, gaming is always about the adventure, the story, and the time shared with friends and family. I love all forms of gaming! Board games, card games, pen & paper games, and especially video games. Granted most of the gaming I do lately is on my PC via Steam.

It is always great to sit back down in front of my desktop after finishing up dinner and chores, and relaxing while chatting with Qvaid and/or the gang, and roaming through the creations of all the worlds and lands these games have to offer.

Game long, my friends. Game hard.

Highlights

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Players: Qvaid, Hobbit

Comments: Qvaid and I were off to a fantastic start in Dysmantle this week. On Monday evening we managed to gain a few levels and back tracked to areas that opened up some new areas too us.

It seems we might have leveled an extensive amount by moving to areas we’ve been and well dismantling objects that we were not able to previously due to our equipment. As we upgrade said equipment it opens the doors on other things we can dismantle for resources needed to progress.

Co-Op can be a bit of a challenge together in this game as it doesn’t split the screen or give us separate views like most games would, but even still it has certainly been an enjoyable experience for the both of us thus far.

The progress Qvaid and I are making in Dysmantle is coming in decent strides. I was surprised by just how easily we were able to come back after the extended break and pick back up to move forward!

At the time of this entry, Qvaid and I have wrapped up our gaming week in Dysmantle. We made strides on Thursday evening in our progress again! We even managed to get a key piece of gear to allow us to travel to other regions! Granted it came at a bit of a cost. We were up a bit later on Thursday than we had originally intended.

It was still a fun filled week of adventure and exploration for us both! Dysmantle is really shaping up to be an incredible game and experience!

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Players: Eldon (sort of), Kilen, Hobbit

Comments: As per the status quo, any day listed before Friday was mostly early morning play time before work, or perhaps some auto-fishing during the day with some Altar resource top offs before logging out for the day.

The grind has been legendary on the quest for Kilen and I to level the trade skills and keep pace in the game. As it stands for us right now, we are both in need of all of these trade skills. At least the majority of them, as it were.

We have found ourselves in a bit of a rut. The grind for crafting gear even remotely close to our level is a bit much. I did manage to craft level 75 gear for myself over the course of the weekend. Sadly, I didn’t really get any attempt to put the new gear to use. Kilen is still roaming around in the gear he got at level 50 with no bonuses.

Since I noted I was high enough in tailoring to craft level 75 gear on my own, I went to the nearest town, purchased the wool cloth, some class appropriate power stones, and a single talisman I needed for bonuses. I rushed back to my base and crafted the gear I’ve been waiting weeks for.

Sadly, looking over what is needed Kilen wasn’t quite as lucky. It seems he would need at least a couple more levels in blacksmithing to even attempt it. Even still, he can not process some of the materials required. He’ll has an extremely long grind ahead of him. This is given he doesn’t eventually break down and purchase some of the materials from the Central Market Place to craft what he needs.

I’m hopeful we find some sort of balance soon. We are currently at several weeks in of game play with nothing but weekends of gathering materials and grinding experience to level trade skills. I really do like The Quinfall, but this all work and no real play is really starting to wear on me a bit, if I’m being completely honest.
