I had Friday off to start a bit of an early celebration with Qvaid, Error, MamaA, the grandchildren, and Munchkin over the weekend. It was certainly a busy fun filled weekend!
Saturday was the day of the party for our grandson, so there was a bit of a break in gaming as the afternoon progressed. Most of it was good and ready by then, so I logged out to start mingling with the company that arrived.
Over all, it was a bigger turn out than expected, albeit, still quite a bit less than the original guest list. These kinds of things always happen though, and Error and MamaA already knew how these things can go. Mostly from the way it fell into place with Lil Bit’s 1st Birthday party, but also because Qvaid and I already warned them.
My sister managed to convince me to join them for a dinner on Saturday evening, which did have me at a bit of a later start than usual after the grandson’s bday party. We went to Drifters, which was an absolute fantastic experience!
I tried gator bites for the first time, and the steak was probably the best steak I’ve had in our favorite Alabamian city. We also had a great time joking and talking after getting back to the house with her Husband, her, my mother, and myself. Always so much fun to have so many laughs!
There was quite a bit of Honorable Mentions this week. It seems the group gets some of the solo game play in where they can!
Kilen managed to complete the 18th Expedition Relics in NMS, and I followed suit late Saturday evening / early Sunday morning myself. I enjoyed the experience over all, but much like Kilen, I admit it wasn’t quite as ‘fun’ as the 17th Expedition we completed prior. I ended the weekend game play of No Man’s Sky working on putting the two new multi-tools I received into action. I play to make one my mining tool and the other my weapon.
I’ve already upgraded both staff based multi-tools to S class, added at least 4 slots each, and started moving over some tech to get them ready. I paused the process at some point to get ready to hop into a game of Minecraft Bedrock with Error, Qvaid, and MamaA later in the day on Sunday.
Being my favorite game, I’ve certainly enjoyed the ability to fit some No Man’s Sky play time in here and there over the course of the weekends lately!

Highlights

Days played: Monday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Qvaid and I finished up the back tracking we were doing on previously played stages to gather relics, plants, chests, and Punnies we had missed because we either just didn’t see where we needed to go or we were missing a crew member at the time to unlock a specific area. We finished out Monday night with the back tracking, and are hopeful Tuesday evening we will get a good start on the new areas and quests!
Qvaid and I did end up back tracking on stages a bit more as the week progressed. We needed minerals to complete some of the character upgrades for weapons, health, and stamina. We also managed to snag some ‘time completion’ badges in the process as well.
On Wednesday evening, we managed to complete the game with a fair decent amount of time in along side 37/41 achievements.
We certainly enjoyed what it brought to the table, but it was time to move on to new adventures!

Days played:
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: I’ve been reliving a bit of the ole childhood nostalgia in the adventures Qvaid and I are sharing with TMNT Splintered Fate. We also have the DLC Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam.
Over all, the game is great! There are certainly some frustrating mechanics Qvaid and I have noted though. If both of you fall you start back at the Turtle’s Lair and have to work your way through from the beginning.
From what I’ve gathered the story line is preserved. The rogue-like hybrid just forces you to start from the beginning during your play through which has been a bit of a hot mess for us.
Qvaid and I both have grasped that the grind does make the runs easier, and at least the areas are somewhat randomized for each play through. That said, we were hoping for a bit of the traditional game play style.
I’m still enjoying the game myself, and as far as I can tell, Qvaid is as well. We’ve collected Dragon and Dreamer coins and got a few ‘upgrades’ which are persistent through out the runs. There are also abilities and such that are randomized and unique to the runs. These start over if you die or quit the game.
That aspect can be a bit of a let down to some extent since you might ‘want’ x but only get variations of y and z at times.
The game is certainly a good challenge for us, and still a great bit of adventure, fun, and humor. We ended the week working through a decent bit of the starter upgrades that persist through the runs, and we are certainly noting that assist us which the further attempts.
Looking forward to more game play this week to see what we can do to improve the runs!

Days played: Saturday, Sunday
Players: Aces, Error, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: In somewhat of a surprise for me, several of the group decided to make another attempt at some Baldur’s Gate 3 recently.
In a bit of irony, I had uninstalled BG3 recently because it didn’t seem like we would get back to it any time soon. In any case, I reinstalled it, and we spent a decent portion of the weekend rolling through two new campaign stars.
Our first run started on Saturday with Aces, Error, Kilen, and myself. Aces schedule is quite a bit different than our own, so we opted to start another campaign to play with Error, Kilen, and myself.
It was definitely a great experience to be back in a game we love so much. I mean it is D&D at the base of it all. Great story, plethora of characters, humor, action, and interesting!
I did make a bit of a mistake on the campaign with Aces, Error, Kilen, and myself. I created a halfling cleric of Yondala. As it turns out it appears in both campaigns we will likely be chaotic murder hobos. I’m not sure if Clerics suffer the same fate as Paladins for poor, um, choices?
I guess we will see how it pans out! Hopefully, Hagle doesn’t end up as a broken fighter somewhere along our journey!?
One thing BG3 does bring to the table for several of us that don’t get to play Table Top D&D often, is a chance to relive a bit of our gaming adventures of the past. It’s fun to be back into that mix, even if it isn’t quite the same thing as the Table Top version!

Days played: Sunday
Players: Error, MamaA, Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Sunday evening we had another round of Minecraft with 4 of us adventuring across the ever beautiful biomes of Minecraft Bedrock again.
Our main head quarters, or at least what I believe will become such, still needs a good bit of work. It is still somewhat a bit of a safe haven for us though, and that is really all that matters.
MamaA did have to skip out for a bit to take care of the grandchildren’s bedtime routine, but she was back with us once all that was wrapped up and they were in the bed for the evening.
We managed to find some cherry blossom trees, which Error likes to build with, and got a decent amount of logs and saplings to continue that later on.
Time slipped away from us in our travels and we ended up calling it where we stood, quite a good ways from our main headquarters after scavenging several villages, and fighting off a raider tower in our travels.
Looking forward to the next set of adventures we have, hopefully soon!

Days played: Friday
Players: Error, Hobbit
Comments: Error and I got a bit of some 7 Days to Die in on Friday evening after everything had settled down.
Both of us were off to start the weekend, and Error and MamaA were crashing at our house to prep for the grandson’s 1st birthday party. Kilen did some chatting with us in Discord before ultimately calling it a night.
Error and I mostly just scavenged and worked on trader quests while we were all having some good laughs and chatter in Discord.
