Sunday was a bit of an odd ball for gaming. To be fair, technically Saturday was as well. We still made the best of it all though. Great times in all the games we played! Qvaid and I got an extra day to play Outward due to some unforeseen circumstances with scheduling. I was running quite a bit late, and Kilen was beat from getting back to work with an early day on Friday.
As per the status quo, the majority of the group is still scattered to the 4 winds (or 5 winds if you’d like to quote Outward). Those of us able too, or interested I should say, managed a bit of gaming together on Saturday. Error isn’t really able to make any other days at this time at least. There is hope, although the further along things go, the less likely I find that to be a feasible outcome.
I decided earlier in the week last week to move over to Debian 12 from Linux Mint. Yeah, yeah, I know I’m getting a lot of crap from our gaming group as well. Look, you can’t ‘test’ without actually loading the stuff to do it! I enjoy Linux, and I’d like to see what all is out there!? As of right now, I’m a bit torn, I miss some of the simplicity of Linux Mint, but I have certainly seen some really nice additions with Debian on my laptop (mostly work related) and on my desktop which I use for connectivity to work and gaming.
All that said, I noticed some huge performance gains on Debian with KDE Plasma using Wayland. It’s still too early to tell if that will work with all the games I play. Everything I’ve tested has shown improvements, but the over all list (mostly below) is still relatively small. Initially, I admit I was a bit wary as the start of our Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria session was off to a rocky start. In hindsight though, I feel like it might be related to the recent patch. I say that because Error and Kilen are on Windows rigs and had the same issues through out the session.

Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
No Man’s Sky
Honorable Mentions:
Valheim, No Man’s Sky, Starfield
I know Iron played some Valheim here and there last week, although I don’t recall on what days or if the sessions were even long enough to be of count.
Kilen and I both played some No Man’s Sky on Sunday, albeit, mostly solo play sessions. I was working on the primary quest line again, and never got around to attempting the new expedition. Kilen was working on the Living Ship quest line he’s been toying with on and off since last weekend. Apparently, it’s a bit of a long one.
Aces was playing Starfield some on Saturday while chatting with us in Discord. I will admit the game looks interesting, although at this time it is single player. I say that because, to be honest, if I’m going to be in a single player game, I have a slew of games in my back log to get around too before I take on any more solo game projects.
Kilen had a pretty wide variety of games through out the course of the week. I don’t know all of them, but I recall things like NMS, RDO, and even some Mount and Blade II: Bannerlords. I can’t track all that as it tends to happen when I’m at work, and even still it is a bit of a rare occurrence as he too is usually working during the week.
Highlights

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: Qvaid and I did manage to complete our 3rd run of Outward on Wednesday evening for the Heroic Kingdom of Levant Faction Quest Line. After defeating the Rusty Lich and completing the Rust and Vengeance Quest Line, we headed back to Harmattan for some inventory management to prep for travel back to New Sirocco. We tend to camp our characters in New Sirocco when we finish a run for various reasons. The major being if we need samples or specialized materials for the building of New Sirocco on our next run.
Qvaid and I got a brief start on our new characters after we wrapped everything up on our 3rd run, and started preparing said characters for another set of adventures. By the end of the evening on Friday, we had managed to get all our skill trees, and some gear, along with all the passive skills, boons, and skills we wanted from other classes. We plan to go with Soroborean Academy on what will be our 4th and possibly final run in Outward Definitive Edition.

Days played: Saturday
Players: Error, Kilen, Hobbit
Comments: Error, Kilen, and I were back in the depths of Moria for some dwarven adventures.
We struggled with some orc town areas in the Lower Deeps. In the end we did finally manage to wrangle up some new recipes, gather some new materials and craft some new weapons.
Those weapons made all the difference in our struggles, although to be fair we didn’t go back to the Orc Towns before we ended up calling it a night. Still just the foes we encountered after crafting those weapons were vanquished so much faster. Kilen went with a tier IV two handed weapons, and Error and I both decided on the 1 handed Maul options.
We found a dragon might be the root cause for the shadows in Moria, and faced off against a drake and later one of her brood. We knew we had some back tracking to do after that, alongside of some serious grind to get some materials up to prepare for further adventures. As I mentioned prior though, it was getting fairly late by this point though so we didn’t get around to either before it was time to head back to our base and camp for the late evening / early morning.
