Conan Exiles: Living Settlements

News

Funcom announced that they will be temporarily disabling Living Settlements over the weekend (Announced via their Discord on Thursday). My guess is to combat the recent issues introduced in Age of Heroes concerning the content. I did attempt to login to the CE server Kilen setup for us when I reloaded my desktop with Linux Mint, but there was a mod issue, and I couldn’t get logged in at the time. I’m not sure if he has gone through the trouble of correcting that, or if he might have already decided to close it down for now. Our play time of Conan Exiles has certainly been lacking as of late with other games on the plate. In truth though, the last few times Error or I have mentioned it, he didn’t seemed to be interested in playing CE at the time at least. You can take a look at the official message from Funcom on their website, here.

Greetings once more Exiles,

In addition to yesterday’s changes to follower rescue timers on Official servers, we are also temporarily disabling Living Settlements on Official servers until we can get a patch out that addresses the issues affecting you and your workers.

What this means for you once the feature is turned off:

  • Workers will no longer wander or express behaviors – they’ll simply stay put wherever they are placed.
    • Workers are still classified as Followers, so they can still enter combat, count for follower limit, be rescued, etc.
  • Enable/Disable follower use on individual placeables will not be available
  • The new UI on crafting stations that allows you to choose from available crafting bonuses will still work as was introduced in Age of Heroes – provided, of course, your followers are within range of the station.

This change has not been committed yet, but is planned to go into effect by the weekend. We’ll provide an update here as soon as the changes are pushed to Official servers – keeping in mind that these kinds of changes only go into effect after servers are restarted.

Thank you for your attention, and I once more apologize for any trouble these issues may have caused you. We do not have an ETA on the patch at this moment, but as soon as we know more, we’ll keep you posted.

If you have any questions or need something about this change clarified, please let us know!
