There was a strange disturbance in the group this week. On Friday evening, I didn’t see anyone on any games, and no mention of any requests to play anything.
If you look at the game time below, a massive portion of it is in Outward. Now, as my favorite game, it’s not a complaint. On the contrary, I still had an amazing time gaming this week.
There was some family time, which was also fantastic! Albeit, we haven’t done that in quite awhile. We even managed to play a great game of Munchkin, during family time!
I spent the massive majority of Friday evening, night, and early Saturday morning, researching the path and eventually taking said path back to Linux Mint. Again, no complaints there, because I was loving the operating system, and fact that I could still do most things I wanted to in Linux. It’s just not a common thing for me to take away from game time to do such research, when feasible. As it turned out though, everyone was MIA on Friday, and Qvaid was watching her shows, and never made mention of gaming. Thus I decided to dive right in and get back to Linux as soon as possible.
While I didn’t list it below, there was also an honorable mention for Red Dead Online, although the play time was so short, I didn’t feel it necessary to include. Basically, Error and I jumped in, got jumped, spent the next 10 or 15 so minutes killing or being killed by two other players, who then hog tied me in reinforced rope (takes forever to break out of), and hopping to another server node (or logging out). After logging back in just long enough to pay my bounty, I found out one of the general daily challenges was pvp related. So while we thought they were just being cods, turns out they had a somewhat legitimate reason.

Days played: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit & Error, Hobbit
Comments: On Monday, Qvaid and I headed back to Enmerkar forest in search of supplies we were starting to run low on. We were mostly looking for fish to make Pungent Paste, and Ghost Eyes for her plate traps. As it turns out, the majority of the run was fruitless. We took as much precaution as we could, but ultimately the fish rotted before we could get the paste made, which is extremely helpful for burnt health and stamina, and it instantly cures infections. On that note though, we did find areas and dungeons in Caldera to get Ghost Eyes and even some fish, so we have since been able to make more. The majority of our game time in Outward lately has been searching for samples, and rare materials to continue with the construction of New Sirocco.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Qvaid and I just hit dungeons at random in Caldera and continued our never ending search for samples. We did manage to complete the second quest for New Sirocco and at the advice of SheenShots, we’ve just held off on talking with Evangeline, so we can take a breather on the quest times, and focus on construction of the buildings we can work on in New Sirocco. Unfortunately that does mean we can’t hand in samples to her, however, you can only have so many ‘specialized’ buildings in any case during certain portions of the quest. Outward has become my absolute favorite game at this point and time, and Qvaid even admitted that it has surpassed her all time favorite game, It Takes Two! I can agree with that, as the adventures we’ve had in Outward have been a truly amazing. I will add that the grind that is New Sirocco could be toned down a bit, with a balance to expeditions that Evangeline will run for you. The first one comes at 3 sample turn ins, and the remainder only are available after every 10 turn ins. The fact that you are stuck with a lower stock building, means you struggle with either wasting samples to attempt to get rare materials, or waste them when you get materials you might be capped out on. It’s easy to avoid, mind you, but I feel like it could use a bit of a touch up myself. I grouped Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday together because effectively it was more of the same activities, and likely will be until we complete the New Sirocco content.
On Saturday, Error and I started out with some adventures in Outward. We packed up some supplies and headed into Enmerkar Forest quite a bit earlier than Qvaid and I managed to do it, with our start to these wonderful adventures. Now, I can’t say it was easier. Neither Error or I were properly geared for such a trek. At some point we did fall to defeat, but we bounced right back, and continued our adventures! There were some extended breaks while at a loading screen, and we ended up calling it a bit later in the evening.
Qvaid and I picked up on some Outward adventuring from there, and played until early in the morning. Much of the fore mentioned sample gathering, dungeon runs, and exploration of Caldera that we did before, while we are waiting for construction to complete in New Sirocco. Still very much a blast, mind you!
On Sunday, Error and I headed back to Chersonese after Error found another power coil. We managed to clear the Montcalm fortress, and got our hands on the first Mefino’s Trade Backpack of our run. The extra space has been so helpful! We played a bit on and off until it was time to call it for some time with the family!

Days played: Friday
Players: Hobbit
Comments: No one was around on Friday, at least as far as I could tell. Technically speaking Qvaid might have been available for some Outward game play. Had she mentioned something earlier in the evening, I certainly could have stopped where I was and we could have gamed. Initially, I was just walking through prep work to get ready for a Linux Mint install as scheduling allowed. My plans to start with were sometime after the 13th. While I was sitting there with not much to do, I ended up starting the process of loading up Linux Mint on my desktop again, and after a point, there was no turning back. In truth, I was fairly excited to head back to Linux in any case. It is rare to use game time to attempt such a thing for me, but no one else was gaming as far as I could tell, and at that time Qvaid was watching some of her shows in the bed room. I ended up staying up far too late, but I got a lot of the work and foundation done, including loading up some things I need for at least a minimal ability to login to work, and even some gaming should there be any options come up over the weekend. I’m now in a good spot to have the best of both worlds in terms of computing and gaming. I have Linux back as my daily driver, and a smaller Windows 11 installation for the event that I run into an application or game(s), I can’t get running in Linux or performing in Linux as desired!

Days played: Sunday
Players: Family
Comments: It’s been awhile since we had a good day of Family Time! We decided to start Sunday off with a game of Munchkin. That particular game did last for quite some time, although we had to take a break for extended periods of time in between rounds. Once we had that game wrapped up, we moved to a game of Trouble. Another game that can take a bit of time, depending on rolls and the level of competition. Over all though, it ended shorter than most games of Trouble. From there we moved on to a game of Head Bands, and played that until it was time to call it. Quite a bit of an early night on Sunday, but several of us were tired from the weekend (especially, me), and we had prep to do to get ready for the work week right around the corner. Ultimately it was a great time, much like the image above states, chalked full of fun, laughs, memories, and love!
