*Breaths in deeply* Ah, the Steam Summer Sale is coming. With that beautiful plethora of game sales right around the corner, my wife and I were in a bit of a pinch. We were in need of a game or so to bide our time in until the sale hit. It so happens there was a couple games that peaked our interest, and bonus here… they were already on sale. We picked up two titles, which combined with my current library should give us plenty of entertainment to hold us off until the Steam Summer Sale drops on the 27th! Error even found some time to finish up Portal in between bouts of NMS. Ultimately, it was a fantastic weekend full of gaming fun. Now if I could just stop the desire to find every bit of fauna on every planet I visit in NMS! For me, that struggle is certainly real! LOL 🙂

Days played: Monday
Players: Qvaid, Hobbit
Comments: My wife and I picked back up on our Trine adventures on Monday evening. We moved through each students dream, the puzzles, the combat, and beautifully laid out dreamscapes (if you will). Ultimately we were up a bit later than we had intended for a Monday night, but it was all the worth while! We ended up completing the remainder of Trine 4: Melody of Mystery, and thus once again concluding the end of our Trine adventures for now. You can read more about that completion, here, if you like. The Trine series of games (all 5!) made for an incredible journey in our co op adventures! We are hopeful there might be more installments later on down the way!

Days played: Tuesday, Wednesday
Players: Hobbit
Comments: As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently picked up Children of Morta at my wife’s request. You can take a look at the post, here, should it interest you. It is a bit out of the realm of games she is typically interested in, but she wanted to give it a shot, and I was happy to see what adventures it may hold for us. We loaded it up for our Tuesday evening gaming session! That session mostly consisted of a bit of learning for the both of us, and then grinding with the few characters we had access too in the first dungeon. We purchased several armor upgrades, a couple damage upgrades, and a single movement speed upgrade (by accident). We unlocked a new character through our multiple failures, and continued the grinding, until it was time to turn in for the night. Unless I’m reading her wrong, I’d say ultimately she has enjoyed what Children of Morta has to offer so far!
On Wednesday things didn’t pan out for the usual family night, so my wife and I got an early start on some more CoM gameplay. We managed to beat the Spider King in the first dungeon. We changed up our line up a bit, as she moved to Linda, and I picked up play on Kevin. Along with some more upgrades from Uncle Ben, we were able to finally conquer the first stepping stone of the adventure. Fortunately the levels are procedurally generated, so at least it was somewhat different for us on each run.

Days played: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Players: Error, Hobbit, Kilen, Eldon
Comments: On Thursday evening, Error, Kilen, and myself logged in for a bit of NMS. Kilen recently acquired a ‘living freighter’ and was eager to let us take a look at the new found part of his fleet. He’s invested pretty heavily in that fleet so far. Error spent the majority of the night salvaging ships and selling them to make those Units. Ironically, and pretty much what happens to me frequently, I started out with a plan to work on quests, but spent a massive portion of that time on a single planet looking for the last fauna I needed to ‘complete’ the discovers on said paradise planet. Error and Kilen called it at the usual time, but I moved forward with exploration and my search on that planet as my wife had company and so she wouldn’t be available for a Thursday night gaming session. My wife must be some sort of good luck charm, because almost the moment she walked into the room, I found that last creature! Therefore, I was successful, but the time invested was quite a bit more than I anticipated!
We managed game sessions of No Man’s Sky from Friday evening through Sunday evening. Error and I usually call it a bit earlier in the evening on Sunday’s, but it was a weekend where we managed to play until it was time to call it for prep for the work week starting on Monday. Over the course of the weekend, we all managed to get a Sentinel Ship upgraded to ‘S Class’, and geared up the best we can manage with the resources we have at this point. I walked through various attempts to get the ‘free’ freighter (still the only one in the group that doesn’t have one).
